------Being raised in a Christian home, my father a minister of the gospel and my mother the church pianist. I started singing solo's in church at age 5 thus; singing and church work has been at the forefront of my life. My music education started as a young boy in the convention "shaped note" singing schools that were very prevalent at that time. I was saved as a boy of 12 years old in August of 1966. By age 14 I was singing in a local men's trio. At age 17 I started singing in Southern Gospel Quartets traveling over much of the Southeast. Later I studied classical voice for 4 1/2 years and was a member of the Atlanta Phoenix Opera Company Atlanta Vocal Arts ensemble for 2 years of that time. I have studied voice with several teachers including, Olga Loveland; Gospel Legend and Hall of Fame Member, LeRoy Abernathy; Bill Baize, former tenor singer with The Stamps Quartet; and Sandra Manley of Chattanooga, Tennessee. I most recently traveled and sang with a well known Southern Gospel Group for 8 years, primarily singing the baritone part and acting as emcee for the group the last 2 years with them. Approximately 3 years ago, God led me to learn to play guitar. Since yielding to His will, He continuously sends me new and fresh songs, many of which are incorporated into my ministry selections. One of these songs entitled, "I'm Gonna Rise," recently debuted on the National Singing News Chart at #49. Other singing groups are currently performing and recording some of the songs that the Lord sends me. I am encouraged daily by my wife of 28 years the former Debra Williams of Douglasville, Ga. and my 2 daughters, Lindsey age 23, and Sidney age 18.
